Lab Technician

Summary of Principal Duties:

• Execution of ASTM, AWWA, proprietary and other test methods to determine Product characteristics and Product performance
• Perform routine milling, sieving, material handling and other tasks associated needs, priorities and requirements.
• Coordinate with other employees, contractors, and with R&D personnel
• Complete assigned tasks before they are due
• Care for laboratory equipment responsibly, correctly, and safely
• Assist with safe working procedures and encourages a safe environment

Specific Responsibilities:

• Adhere to safety rules and performs all duties in a safe and effective manner
• Respect the safety of self and all fellow employees
• Adhere to QA/QC requirements including:
  • Proper glassware cleaning and handling procedures
  • Careful review and execution of provided SOP Standard Operating Procedures and methods
• Assist with all lab responsibilities and functions including:
  • Updating production logs
  • Writing reports
  • Lab testing and analysis products
• Understand, record, and react to environmental issues within the plant
• Coordinate with R&D on specific testing methods
• Formulate equations and functions within Microsoft Excel
• Provide write-ups on Product Quality and test methods
• Develop SOPs on lab functions
• Review logs, datasheets, or reports to ensure adequate production levels or identify abnormalities with production equipment or processes.
• Maintain a clean and safe working area

Applicants must possess:

• 2 or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• 2 or more years of experience in a laboratory or analytical testing
• Must be highly organized and able to prioritize and multitask
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to work in a 24 / 7 operational environment
• Must be able to work in areas of extreme heat, and cold
• Familiarity with Metric to Decimal conversion
• Must be Proficient with Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook
