SUMMARY

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for directing and supervision of the Quality team (Shift Lab Technicians), along with the development and management of site quality control programs. This position is responsible to lead trainings and are responsible for safeguarding critical records and training documentation for the Quality Program. This position applies expertise and knowledge to the quality assurance program ensuring customer, internal, and ASTM requirements are maintained. The Quality Control Manager analyzes data, plans, directs, coordinates, and supervises department activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.


RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE

  • Know and understand all current lab procedures for Biocarbon manufacturing; train Quality employees to ensure unity of effort on quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Develop and Manage Quality related SOPs and Quality Training Manual
  • Coordinate testing and certification of all the products and assure that all product meets published product specifications.
  • Identify and keep abreast of applicable technical concepts and process technologies.
  • Establish and adhere to procedures and publications for manufacturing, inspection, testing, and reporting.
  • Supervise staff in the development, analysis and reporting of quality control requirements.
  • Provide hands-on technical consultation and assist operations team in the development of new products, materials, and processes.
  • Monitor all operations that affect quality.
  • Assure reliability and consistency of recorded data.
  • Lead product and process improvement trials and studies.
  • Support management team to ensure excellence in environmental stewardship.
  • Participate in teams working on opportunities to promote manufacturing excellence.
  • Coach and develop the Quality team through the utilization of the performance management system.
  • Contribute to the overall success and continued growth of Aymium by always adding value to the organization and willingly participating in tasks assigned that are outside the scope of this job description, but within the capabilities of the employee.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Five (5) to ten (10) years applied experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willing to work as part of a team with ability and willingness to assist in nurturing an environment of employee involvement.
  • Experience with laboratory testing instrumentation, schematics, quality control, and advanced materials testing.
  • The ability to function well in a laboratory, manufacturing, and technical environment, and the ability to train individuals and groups on material upgrades, processes, and applications.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and applicable software tools for the position, including, but not limited to, experimental design, data collection, statistical analysis, and project management software applications.
  • Must possess the self-motivation to work independently and continually advance cognitive, technical, business, leadership, organization, and communication skills.
  • Must possess an excellent work ethic, a high degree of integrity, and a keen business acumen.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance.

Work is performed primarily in the plant manufacturing environment with exposure to loud equipment and outdoor elements. Verbal and written communication with employee groups and plant stakeholders is a frequent expectation. The employee must have high mobility and dexterity due to expanse of operations and be able to climb stairs and walk long distances. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

COMPENSATION

Salary: Range: $30-42/hr

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided per CA SB 1162 ("CA Pay Transparency Law"). Base pay information is based on market location.
