REPORTS TO

Feedstock Supervisor

SUMMARY

The Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient handling of feedstock materials, with a primary focus on front-end loader operation. This role directly supports the Feedstock Supervisor by executing material flow in accordance with the Feedstock Management Plan, while maintaining equipment care, adhering to safety protocols, and supporting PEFC Chain of Custody requirements. Operators in this role must be adaptable and capable of operating a variety of mobile and heavy equipment as needed to meet operational demands.

OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

  1. Safely and efficiently, operate the front-end loader and other mobile equipment to support daily feedstock handling.
  2. Ensure proper material flow and quality by following the Feedstock Management Plan and maintaining organized staging areas.
  3. Manage feedstock piles in accordance with the Feedstock Supervisor's instructions and PEFC guidelines to ensure proper material rotation, segregation, and preservation of chain of custody integrity.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE

  • Operate the front-end loader to load, move, and manage feedstock materials across the site.
  • Conduct daily pre-operation and post-operation checks using documented inspection lists.
  • Maintain assigned equipment by performing routine care, cleanliness, and reporting issues.
  • Follow the Feedstock Management Plan (FMP) to ensure correct material flow and prevent contamination.
  • Operate all equipment with a strong commitment to safety, following company protocols and actively identifying potential hazards.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 1-2 years' operating a front-end loader, forklift, or similar equipment in farming, agriculture, construction, or industrial settings.
  • Experience in material handling, pile management, or yard work (e.g., ag commodities, trucking yards, scrap yards, or co-op operations).
  • Basic equipment maintenance or mechanical troubleshooting experience is preferred.
  • Prior work in outdoor environments with exposure to seasonal weather conditions.
  • Comfortable with basic computer or tablet use for completing checklists or logging equipment use.
  • Demonstrated attention to safety, teamwork, and taking care of equipment in previous roles.

Job Characteristics:

  • Full-time

LOCATION

  • Williams, CA (on-site)
  • 12-hour shift, 3-on 3-off w/ rotation every 4-weeks from days to nights

COMPENSATION

Full Time "non-exempt" status

Overtime is paid where applicable

Starting Hourly Pay: $24.00/Hour

Potential advancement from Tier 1 ($24/hour) to Tier 2 ($27/hour)

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided per CA SB 1162 ("CA Pay Transparency Law"). Base pay information is based on market location.
